SUPPLY – James Edward “Jim” Hash, 78, was called home on Friday February 5, 2021. Jim was born on May 31, 1942 in Radford, Virginia, to the late Volney and Marguerite Evelyne Davis Hash. Also before him in death was a sister, Darlene Divine.

Taking pride in his West Virginia legacy, Jim attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia for three years, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Pi fraternity. He later graduated from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville with a degree in business administration.

Jim served in the US Army Reserve as a military police force for six years. From 1969 until his retirement in 1993, he was a postal inspector with the US Postal Service. He then worked as an auditor / investigator for the NC Real Estate Commission. Jim’s Christian faith was first and foremost in his life. He was a perfect husband and a dedicated father and grandfather. Everyone who knew Jim knew he enjoyed jokes and made others laugh. He was an avid golfer and a huge Duke basketball fan. He enjoyed home projects and was an outdoor landscaping architect. Jim was honored to serve as a chaplain through his membership in the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Jim is survived by his wife Doris Kirby Hash; Son James Bryan Hash and wife Kimberly of Hope Mills; Son and daughter by marriage to Matthew Varnam of Supply and Meredith Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Supply; Brother Wade Hash and his wife Anne of Ocean Isle; Sister Martha Burris and her husband Stan of St. James; and three grandchildren, Brittany Hash, Joseph Hash, and Brian Sullivan.

A celebration of life ministry will be held on Sunday, February 14th at 3 p.m. at the Word of Christ Fellowship, 1920 Stone Chimney Road, Supply. Rev. Gerald Kirby will officiate. The visit takes place one hour before the service. Due to the current health situation, the COVID-19 restrictions are being observed.
