Landscaping team who transformed Rhyddings Park appointed to help improve county’s green spaces
A social enterprise that helped redesign a major park in East Lancashire has been appointed landscaping and planning consultant for Growth Lancashire.
Newground, based in Blackburn but operating from locations across the region, has been appointed to lead the urban development team that will assist in providing landscaping services to the public and private sectors across the county.
Steve Greenwood, Director of Landscaping and Real Estate Services at Newground, said, “Following a solid assessment and open bidding process, we are pleased to be an approved contractor for landscaping services across the county.

“We already have excellent relationships with businesses, local authorities, registered social landlords, schools and community businesses in the community, but look forward to strengthening our connections and expanding our networks.
“With 36 years of experience, our team of landscape architects has a wealth of impressive projects, but is excited about the opportunities the framework offers to expand its portfolio even further.”
Newground works closely with customers to provide professional landscaping services from start to finish and can assist with application planning, design guidelines, and feasibility studies.
Services include master planning, forests, allotments, parks, play areas, community gardens, bike paths, pumping routes, urban planning, art projects, water improvements and neighborhood developments.
Previous projects included redesigning Rhyddings Park in Oswaldtwistle in collaboration with the Hyndburn Borough Council and Friends of Rhyddings Park. Newground recently helped Waterfoot Primary School in Rossendale realize their vision of an outdoor learning space for forest education.
