Origin Enterprises acquires UK landscaping supplier Green-tech

Origin Enterprises plc announced the acquisition of Green-tech Limited, a UK manufacturer and distributor of landscaping, forest and property maintenance equipment.

Green-tech is expected to “enhance Origin’s amenity businesses and offer organic farming and biodiversity enhancement potential for the group’s agriculturally oriented companies.”

Commenting on the announcement, Sean Coyle, CEO of Origin:

“Green tech is a great fit with Origin, adding to our UK convenience offering in a segment that we expect will continue to grow in the years to come.

“We are very pleased to welcome the Green Tech team to the Origin Group.”

Origin Enterprises plc is a focused agricultural services group that provides specialized on-farm agronomy services, digital agricultural services, and the provision of plant technology and inputs. The group has market positions in Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, Brazil, Poland, Romania and the Ukraine.

This week it announced its interim results for the half year ended January 31, 2021. The report points out that group sales fell by 5.4% to € 572.4 million.

Without the adverse effects of currency translation, sales were broadly in line with the figures for the first half of 2020.

The company achieved an operating result of € 1.2 million in the first half of the year, which is a significant improvement compared to the reported loss of € 2.8 million in the first half of 2020.
