SCV Water To Host Virtual Basic Landscaping Class
Officials from the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water) will host a free virtual class on Saturday to teach the basic elements of sustainable landscaping.
On Saturday, SCV Water will host the Sustainable Landscaping Fundamentals virtual class taught by John Windsor, a certified arborist and California certified gardener.
“He has been a horticultural consultant in the Santa Clarita Valley for more than 21 years,” said a statement from SCV Water. “He is a horticultural instructor and teaches gardening and landscaping at the local adult school and parks and recreation department in Santa Clarita.”
Participants will learn the basic elements of sustainable landscaping, including ways to conserve natural resources, manage water, and create a landscape that suits their needs.

SCV Water runs a gardening course once a month, which has been switched to a virtual format in recent months due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our instructors will continue to deliver the same great content, but in a more compressed format,” said SCV Water’s statement. “The class is focused on the topic for 45 minutes to an hour, followed by a question-and-answer session at the end. All presentations are recorded and can be viewed on our website one week after the live lesson. Participants can also download the presentation. “
The free virtual class “Basics of Sustainable Landscaping” will take place on Saturday, February 6th at 9 am
